20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cheniere Energy, Inc. ("Cheniere") (NYSE MKT: LNG) announced today that one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, ("Holdings"), has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the ("") relating to its proposed initial public offering of common shares.
Holdings' only business will consist of owning limited partner units of (NYSE MKT: CQP) ("") currently owned by Cheniere.
Cheniere will ultimately receive the net proceeds from the initial public offering of common shares by Holdings as a result of the repayment of indebtedness owed by Holdings to Cheniere and the payment of a distribution to Cheniere.
Cheniere intends to use the cash that it receives from Holdings for the development of its existing assets, future projects and general corporate purposes.
